Can UO students be volunteers? We have graduate students enrolled in a course that may involve travel. Do we treat them as volunteers in this case?
If it is related to their studies, it benefits their own education and may be tax reportable.
Is there a way in banner to see if they are a corporation vs individual before we get the w9 or w8

Leah, if they are not in Banner already, try google. Its a pretty good resource.
If someone is doing business as their own name, they are still need to be considered a dba, not an indvidual. This is one of the items on the PCS checklist to verify that the individual is not performing services as an employee,

Who determines the rate for airfare-transportation (mileage)/hotel/food for a contract if not using per diem? Are there rates on the PCS website?
And you need W-8/9 forms from both presenter and their agent

I was under the impression that the foreign vendors were only active in banner for one year. but you said their w8 is good for 3...
