We have a great exhibition of Arts & Crafts silver on view right now at the JSMA, featuring work by the Kalo Shop of Chicago, created by a women entrepreneur raised in Oregon, Clara Barck Welles, arguably the most influential force in Arts & Crafts metalwork nationwide. She was also an activist, social reformer, and Suffragette who helped lead the Illinois delegation of the 1913 march for votes for women in Washington DC.
